We also feature a total of 38 distinctive cabin rentals, including a Cabin Village where recently updated Rustic units are clustered around 4 outdoor kitchens – a great area for groups and events like family reunions. Sanilac County Historical Museum: The Sanilac County Historic Village and Museum is a collection of more than a dozen historic buildings located on ten acres of the original Dr. Joseph Loop estate in the Lake Huron harbor village of Port Sanilac. The Sanilac County Historical Society invites you to step back in time as you wander through the beautiful gardens and the Victorian, Edwardian, and vintage buildings and exhibits that are featured on the property.
Permanent collections include marine shipwreck items, military memorabilia, and Native American artifacts. The 1872 Loop-Harrison mansion is furnished in period; many of the accoutrements original to the family. A functioning centennial schoolhouse gives hundreds of local elementary-age children the experience of learning in a one-room 1800’s environment every year. Our turn of the century General Store and Historic Church still fulfill their original purposes.
The Barn Theatre: The Barn Theatre is located at the south end of Port Sanilac on M-25, on the grounds of the Sanilac County Historical Museum. The Barn was built approximately one and a half centuries ago and is historically accurate; meaning it is without indoor plumbing. (Don’t fret, facilities are just outside the building). The Barn Theatre started in 1980 with just one show, and now we produce seven full length shows, one concert, and one musical. There is always something new at The Barn. If you have never been, what are you waiting for? The Barn Theatre is a come as you are kind of theatre. The dress code is “comfortable,” after all it is a barn. We have something for everyone. Several of our shows are great for the entire family and some of them are for the older kids and adults who want a fun evening out. We specialize in comedies and our forte is the always popular Farce.
Huron Shores Golf Club: Established in 1925, Huron Shores Golf Club is known as a challenging and fun to play course in Michigan’s Thumb that offers breath taking scenery with a classic layout. Huron Shores is an 18 hole regulation course with a beautifully remodeled clubhouse, open completely to the public! We do offer golf memberships for our course as well as Mulligan’s our restaurant and bar where we offer a full pub style menu. Enjoy your meal sitting on our new deck that over looks the course and the vast blue water.
The course is located in Sanilac County, Michigan, just 3 miles north of the quaint town of Port Sanilac on M-25. Huron Shores Golf Club is easily reached from Thumb area and Mid-Michigan communities alike-not too mention the ride in is just as gorgeous as our course.
Our golf shop is stocked with the latest golf equipment and accessories featuring Footjoy and Titleist products.
